Based on an old narrative, the 7th Sultan of the Ottoman Empire, Fatih Sultan Mehmed, while passing through the Black Sea with his army in 1450, decided to rest for a while and asked for a tent to set up. The black turbans worn by the local people living in the region during their stay here attract to his attention. Turning to his vizier for the people wearing a hat-shaped turban, called "Börk" in old Turkish, "Who are those people from BlackBörk over there?" he asked. After that day, the region's name began to be called "BlackBörk". The story of our BlackBörk brand goes back to this rumour from the 1450s.
